This log aims to record the number of Wheatears passing through the county and is based on each individual’s assumed first date of occurrence. As the figures show, it has been a poor spring compared with 2008 and this has also been experienced with other species. So far in 2009, both White and Yellow Wagtails are down in numbers compared with previous years, while Ring Ouzels and Whinchats have been virtually absent. In addition, very few Pied Flycatchers have been recorded, but on the plus side, it has been a good spring for Grasshopper Warblers. |
